Common questions about the questions
How many questions are on the Rice Purity Test?
Exactly 100. You start with a score of 100 and lose one point for every question you can honestly check off, so your final score is 100 minus your checked boxes.
What do the questions cover?
Roughly in escalating order: romance and firsts, physical intimacy, solo and online habits, partying and substances, run-ins with rules and authority, and a final deep-end stretch. Our version groups them into eight themed sections so the test has pacing instead of being one long wall.
Is there one official list of questions?
No. The test began as a photocopied paper tradition at Rice University, and wording has drifted for decades — every site words items slightly differently. The 100-question structure and the themes are the constant; there is no single anointed “official” list.
Do I have to answer honestly?
It only works if you do. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere — the score is calculated in your browser — so the only person you can lie to is yourself.
Once you have your number, the score-meaning chart decodes every range, and the average score page shows how you compare. Hit a term you didn't recognize? It's probably in the glossary.
