What does “Booty call” mean
on the Rice Purity Test?

A “booty call” is a spur-of-the-moment invitation — usually late, usually a text — to meet up for something physical rather than romantic. The test counts it among the more casual experiences.

On the test

A “deep end” item that signals comfort with casual, no-strings situations.

Dated by its own technology

The phrase went mainstream in the late '90s, helped along by the 1997 comedy of the same name, back when a "call" meant a landline ringing at 1 a.m. The concept aged fine; the technology dates it. Today's version is a two-word text, but the name stuck because "booty text" never sounded right to anyone.

The test's wording, "on speed dial," adds a layer: this isn't about one late-night message, it's about a standing arrangement. That's why it sits in the deep-end section. Checking it means casual stopped being occasional and became infrastructure.
